The main difference between natural skincare and conventional products are the ingredients that are used in both types of formulations.

Every skincare product is made up of two types of ingredients :

• Those that form the base or excipient of the product (they form 80% of the product content ).
• Additives that serve to give a texture, fragrance, color or to preserve it (they make up the remaining 20% ).

BASE INGREDIENTS

The vast majority of skincare products found on the market are formulated mainly with oils derived from petroleum (paraffins, Vaseline, silicone oils, etc.).

These types of ingredients cause momentary false hydration, since they create an occlusive layer on the skin, not allowing it to breathe, and because of this, the hydration of the lower layers rises to the upper layer, leaving the skin dehydrated where it needs it most, which is in the lower layers.

This dehydration ends up causing premature aging of the skin, since keeping our skin always well hydrated is one of the most important factors to avoid the appearance of wrinkles.

At HOMO NATURALS, as a natural skincare brand for men, we do not use oils derived from petroleum in our formulations.

We only use the best quality vegetable oils and plant extracts.

The advantages of using vegetable oils are :

• Its fatty acids are more similar to our skin, allowing a greater degree of penetration of the active ingredients. On the other hand, petroleum derivatives remain at the top and fail to transport nutrients to the lower layers of the skin.
• They are rich in active ingredients. Vegetable oils contain vitamins, proteins, amino acids, phytosterols, etc. On the other hand, oils derived from petroleum, being refined, are inert, that is, “dead”, since they do not contain any nutrients for our skin.

 

ADDITIVES

In conventional skincare, synthetic perfumes are used that are very economical for the manufacturer.

At HOMO NATURALS we use only 100% pure essential oils, which are very powerful plant extracts with great principles for our skin (purifying, soothing, anti-wrinkle, etc.).

Preservatives:

In conventional cosmetics, an endless number of synthetic preservatives are used that are increasingly controversial due to their implications on our health (parabens, BHT, BHA, triclosan, phenoxyethanol, ethanolamines...).

At HOMO NATURALS we use only naturally occurring preservatives permitted by organic certification bodies.
